Mike, as a Level One Certified Instructor for Leave No Trace, is authorized to train individuals and groups on the “LNT” 7 Principles and related content and applied outdoor practices...and to issue official certificates of completion for participants. This is a combination of interactive content delivery and hands-on reinforcement of such outdoor practices. Thus, typically the training will be outdoor locations convenient to the participants...(yet can be accomplished indoors too).

Contact us at info@seamichigan.com to arrange such dedicated training events, or to discuss with Mike how he might weave in Leave No Trace teachings, supporting materials, etc. into your education program. Mike is open to doing such trainings in much of Michigan’s lower peninsula.
Sea Michigan LLC is actively serving K-12 schools in Michigan with field trip development and leadership. We are a registered supporting partner with EGLE’s MI Green Schools program, and actively welcome opportunities to serve Michigan school districts. Based in Kalamazoo, our primary focus is in the western half of the lower peninsula, and often along the shores of Lake Michigan. Opportunities exist inland also, with such learning opportunities as vernal pool patrol inspections, which are great for aligning with science, environmental science, and other themes. ...these can be very localized to your school area. Please refer to the “Groups” section on our main site menu for more info. Let’s get those kids outside! ;o)

The Muskegon Lighthouse Conservancy is a historical preservation organization dedicated to the upkeep of the Muskegon lighthouses. Stop in for a tour by Mike and also a chance to purchase our apparel at the gift shop that directly supports restoration.
Mike volunteers on a regular basis as a docent at the light to support the restoration of both lights!
The Alliance for the Great Lakes is a well-established non profit/nonpartisan organization dedicated to protecting all of the great lakes. Mike proudly leads and participates in multiple Adopt-a-Beach Cleanups each year.
Additionally, Mike is an ***official Ambassador*** for the Alliance in the state of Michigan!
